The first part of Christie’s auction of James Bond SPECTRE memorabilia raised £2,785,500 (approx R 60 million) for charity. The live auction of 10 items at Christie’s in London included Bond’s Day of the Dead costume, an Omega Seamaster 300 worn by Daniel Craig and the star lot the Aston Martin DB10 (which raised an amazing £2,434,500 (approx R 53 million)).
The other 14 lots were sold in the online auction, which included James Bond’s Tom Ford sunglasses worn by Daniel Craig and Oberhauser’s Moroccan Lair costume worn by Christoph Waltz.
The proceeds will benefit Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and other charitable organisations and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
