Sir Roger Moore passed away on 23 May 2017 after a short but brave battle with cancer. He was the longest serving actor in the role of James Bond, having played 007 a record seven times.

Roger Moore became a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in 1991 and in 1999 he was awarded a CBE, and then in 2003 a knighthood for his charity work.
